Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR)

Nitrile Rubber (NBR): A Versatile Oil-Resistant Material

Nitrile Rubber (NBR) is one of the most widely used compounds for oil resistance today, offering excellent durability and wear resistance. Its oil resistance is influenced by the acrylonitrile (–CN) content in its composition. A higher acrylonitrile content improves oil resistance, while a lower content enhances low-temperature flexibility.

NBR operates effectively within a temperature range of -25°C to 100°C, making it ideal for a variety of industrial and automotive applications. However, prolonged exposure to temperatures exceeding 100°C may reduce the material’s lifespan. Its balance of oil resistance and wear durability makes NBR a popular choice for demanding environments.
