STANDARD OIL SEALS

Oil Seals for Standard Applications

Rotary seals, commonly known as oil seals, are widely utilized as sealing components in standard applications, such as industrial motors, automotive starter motors, and gearboxes.

Oil seals feature a flexible lip that maintains contact with a shaft or housing to effectively prevent fluid leakage. In some designs, a spring is incorporated to ensure consistent contact between the lip and the shaft for enhanced performance.

These seals are constructed with a durable metal ring that prevents excessive compression of the rubber element and minimizes deformation of the elastomeric material, ensuring reliable and long-lasting operation.

Type 1:

Type 01 seals feature a rubber-covered outer diameter (O.D.) design, making them ideal for use with soft alloy, cast iron/steel, or plastic housings. These seals can be equipped with a garter spring and double lips, providing an effective sealing solution across various environments to meet diverse customer requirements.

This design is widely used in industrial and automotive applications, offering reliable performance and versatility under demanding conditions.

Type 2:

Type 02 seals, with their outer metal case design, are ideal for steel or cast iron housings, ensuring a precise fit and reliable sealing. Options like a garter spring and double lips enhance their performance, making them popular in industrial and automotive applications.

Type 3:

Seals with an additional inner case and reinforced plate design offer superior structural rigidity and stability during installation. The reinforced plate is ideal for compensating slightly damaged housing surfaces. Options like a garter spring and double lips enhance performance, making these seals widely used in industrial and automotive applications.

Type 4:

Similar to Type 01, this seal features an internal metal case fully covered with VITON rubber, providing excellent protection against corrosion from organic solvents and erosive chemicals. The VITON covering enhances chemical and erosion resistance, ensuring efficient operation and reliable sealing performance in harsh environments. Options like a garter spring and double lips are available, making this design widely used in industrial applications.

Type 5:

Similar to Type 01, this seal has an internal metal case entirely covered with VITON rubber, offering superior protection against corrosion from organic solvents and erosive chemicals. The VITON layer boosts chemical and erosion resistance, ensuring efficient performance and reliable sealing in demanding environments. It also provides options for a garter spring and double lips, making it a popular choice for industrial applications.

Type 6:

Featuring an outer metal case with a grounded surface, front chamfer, and rubber lining, this seal offers enhanced resistance to internal face corrosion while providing added protection to the metal case.

Type 7:

Type 07 seals feature a grounded metal case surface with rubber covering the edges, improving sealing capability and enhancing overall performance.
